Background
I serve as 91¿ì²¥â€™s College Ombuds, providing a confidential, impartial, independent, and informal resource for faculty and staff who are navigating workplace concerns, conflict, difficult conversations, or uncertainty about where to begin.
I bring more than three decades of experience in psychology, higher education, mediation, organizational ombuds work, and leadership support. My professional background includes serving as an organizational ombuds, trained mediator, senior clinician and administrator, dean of student and academic services, faculty member, coach, and leadership consultant. Across these roles, I have worked with individuals and groups navigating complex decisions, interpersonal conflict, institutional challenges, and moments when careful conversation matters.
In addition to my work at 91¿ì²¥, I serve as the College Ombuds at Wake Technical Community College, where I established the office and have served as its inaugural ombuds. I am a Certified Organizational Ombuds through the International Ombuds Association.
What I value most about ombuds work is the opportunity to offer a thoughtful, confidential space where people can slow down, be heard, consider options, and approach difficult situations with greater clarity. My work is grounded in careful listening, respect for differing perspectives, and a belief that even challenging circumstances can often be approached with dignity and care.
